The EC is designed as a skills tune-up for the experienced rider who already has a motorcycle license OR as a way
to make a license waiver available for riders operating with a learner's permit. To be eligible for the waiver, riders
with a learner's permit must show proof of completion of a previous motorcycle rider course. Also, students who have a
learner's permit must have had the permit for a minimum of 60 days. The EC course consists of 2 hours of classroom theory
and 4 hours of practical application (riding). Students must provide a street legal, insured, and fully registered motorcycle
to ride in the course. Fully licensed and insured scooters are permitted, however, mopeds are prohibited. To successfully
complete the course, the student must pass both a written and riding assessment. Successful completion of the course makes the
rider eligible for an insurance discount. The EC may be used as a way to earn a license waiver for students who have a learner's
permit and who have completed a motorcycle rider course previously OR as an annual refresher for riders who already have a
motorcycle license. In addition, fully licensed students in the EC may elect to have a passenger ride with them during the course.
Both the rider and the passenger must be fully registered students.
