This class is for the rider with a minimum to moderate amount of riding experience, who is operating a motorcycle
with a learner's permit, and who has not previously completed a motorcycle riding class. Students who enroll in the
IC must have held a current motorcycle learner's permit for at least 60 days. The IC course consists of 5 hours of
classroom theory and 7 hours of practical application (riding). Students must provide a street legal, insured, and
fully registered motorcycle to ride during the class. Fully licensed and insured scooters are permitted, however,
mopeds are prohibited. To successfully complete the IC the student must pass both a written and riding assessment.
Successful completion of the course makes the student eligible for an insurance discount. Upon successful completion
of this course, students will be provided with an opportunity to take the state's Motorcycle Driver's License Road
Test. If the student achieves a passing score the DMV may accept this test in lieu of SCDMV's motorcycle driver's license
