The EC is designed as a skills tune-up for the experienced rider who already has a motorcycle license. Students who have a learner's permit must have had the permit for a minimum of 60 days. The EC course consists of 2 hours of classroom theory and 4 hours of practical application (riding). Students must provide a street legal, insured, and fully registered motorcycle to ride in the course. Fully licensed and insured scooters are permitted, however, mopeds are prohibited. To successfully complete the course, the student must pass both a written and riding assessment. Successful completion of the course makes the rider eligible for an insurance discount. The EC may be used as an annual refresher for riders who already have a motorcycle license.
