SC Technical College System Motorcycle Education Program
The program provides motorcycle rider training classes for individuals of all skill levels. The program has a course for people who have never riden a motorcycle and are interested in learning basic skills to riders who just want to sharpen their skills and share their experience with other riders. There is even a course for riders who want to hone their skills in preparation for taking the state motorcycle driver's license exam. Check out the Courses page to determine which class is best for you.
Effective May 2, 2016, the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) will accept the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) completion card in lieu of the SCDMV’s skill test for the motorcycle license endorsement. SC Rider Ed students will no longer be required to also take the SCDMV skills test to receive their motorcycle license endorsement. Please inquire with your local college about their implementation of this waiver process.
The Locations page provides a list of sponsoring technical colleges and contact information for registration at each location. Be sure to read the General Info pages before registering for any classes. And remember: while we can provide information and training that can help you improve your riding ability, only you can choose to use the skills taught!
